INCANDESCENCE
What is this? Only a light bulb? Oh yes, but what a light bulb! Glorious Philips Photolita-SM PF217 from the old stock (only a few left). It has an internal mirror, satinated and frosted, it gives a very precise 3400°K but has a relatively short life cycle - approx. three hours. Still quite good for a decent photo session and almost enough for a complete recording of Richard Wagner's "Tristan und Isolde" :D

Very cool, makes me think of a person or a robot.. very human like. Is the background some type of vellum paper? It looks very tech..good work!

Pretty color and nice lighting. At first I wasn't sure about the striped background...but the more I looked at it, the more I thought a solid color would be sort of 'blah'. The clean, even-spaced lines give a nice techno feel to the image. Well done!

3 hours??? I hope it didn't cost too much! Nice perspective but I;m not too keen on the striped background.

From your description it sounds so expensive.
Lovely crisp image, as all your work is!!!

I like your backgroundstory. Lightbulbs were great progress in light compared to candles and oillamps.

I've come back a number of times to look at this one before commenting and have to admit that it leaves me somewhat indifferent. I do like the background and how it seems to pick up the screwy part of the bulb. Perhaps it's a case of not being able to appreciate the object in itself. Wagner, however, did shed some light on my evening if not on my reflection. :)

3 hour lifespan? Wow, that's quick.

I like the background, but I think that it could do with a bit more light to brighten up the white areas.

I like how you are weaving in the song titles. Very effective. Now, where have I seen that before? ;-)

I am learning from your blog. I haven't seen a specialist light bulb before.
The stripy background finishes it off nicely after I realised it wasn't an optical illusion.
